We are looking for Prior Navy Nuclear (MM's, EM's or ET's) - This is a senior level field service opportunity where you will function as an Engineering Technical Representative similar to a Test or Systems Engineer in the critical facilities industries. The hiring manager is a former Navy nuclear professional and he is looking for former Navy Nuclear trained MM, ELT, EM or ETs for a "fulltime" senior field service engineering opportunity where you could live anywhere in the greater Baltimore or Northern Virginia area.
The hiring manager has also placed a very strong emphasis customer service and those who share his same vision of responsibly and timely response to customer requirements while treating members of the team with respect. This position is responsible for the oversight and technical documentation during the startup and commission of critical facilities equipment in data centers such as power generation and distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies, static transfer switches, PDU's, BAS & BMS systems, HVAC equipment, installed firefighting and monitoring systems.
Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical systems and excellent customer service skills. While your Navy nuclear experience might not include all of the areas/systems this corporation works with, you must be able to discuss the theory and operational concepts of Back-up Generators, Uninterruptable Power Supplies, Power Distribution and Power Conditioning equipment, environmental systems such as HVAC, dehydrators and air handlers as well as fire prevention and firefighting systems.
This is a field service position, and any interested candidates need to be prepared to work 50-70% in the field, and you are home every weekend.
-Perform design reviews of systems and validate construction to commissioning turnover acceptance.
-Develop, oversee and write installation, startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
-Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans.
-Execute tests for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems to ensure testing is performed in conformance with specifications, standards and procedures.
-Assist in training of plant operations and maintenance personnel.
-Act as liaison with vendors and subcontractors regarding problem resolution and perform testing as required.
-Technical writing experience; review, analyze data and prepare technical reports or procedures.
-Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members.
-Work with others to manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
-Minimum of six years in the US Navy Nuclear Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical field with strong experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical system installation and testing.
-Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
-Experience working with contracted repair and installation organization, to include QA, testing and acceptance procedures.
-Must have the ability to travel to customer sites, rent vehicles and mange a travel budget/schedule independently.
-Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others
